Begin your journey into the world of fashion with this hands-on, beginner-friendly course for adults (19+). Over 13 weeks, you will gain the essential Level 1 skills of professional dressmaking and garment alterations, preparing you for future work as a home-based dressmaker, alterationist, or fashion creative.

This course is designed for beginners or those with limited experience who want to develop professional sewing and garment-making skills. By the end of the course, you will have the confidence to create simple, well-fitted garments, carry out basic alterations, and continue on to further levels of training (Level 2 and 3).

This beginner-friendly course is perfect for those completely those with little experience in sewing, or anyone looking to add more skills. Our step-by-step approach makes learning simple and enjoyable, taking you from the basics through to creating garments with confidence.

Along the way, you would learn to create unique patterns for custom measurements, learn about alterations, and extensive garment construction techniques. You would confidently be able to make finished garments for yourself, loved ones or even start your own small business.

It is the first step in turning your creativity into professional skill.

Tolumi Abiola Oyediji 

Tolumi Abiola Oyediji began sewing in 1997. She initially studied Nutrition and Dietetics,  and enrolled for an M.Sc in Human Nutrition and Dietetics but she knew sewing was where her passion was.

She later went on to study Pattern Making and Fashion Business at the London College of Fashion.
She has opened Fashion schools in Abuja, Lagos and Ibadan, Nigeria.

She has received numerous national awards and showcased on runways in different countries.
She also runs her own clothing line.
