Introduction to Professional Garment Making, Level 1 - Fast Track
Begin your journey into the world of fashion with this hands-on, beginner-friendly course for adults (19+).
This intensive, fast track course will cover the same comprehensive content as the full course but with longer hours and a more condensed structure. Rather than the usual 10 weeks of teaching plus a 2-week study break, we have designed this course to be 6 weeks of focused, in-class and online learning, with weekly assignments and tasks to complete.
Over 6 weeks, you will gain the essential Level 1 skills of professional dressmaking and garment alterations, preparing you for future work as a home-based dressmaker, alterationist, or fashion creative. You will learn a range of professional sewing techniques, including pattern making and various sewing methods.

Please note that while we welcome beginners, absolute beginners who have not yet engaged in personal sewing projects may find this course overwhelming due to its fast pace and intensity.
This course is designed for those who want to develop professional sewing and garment-making skills and by the end of the course, you will have the confidence to create simple, well-fitted garments, carry out basic alterations, and continue on to further levels of training (Level 2 and 3).
Our step-by-step approach makes learning simple and enjoyable, taking you from the basics through to creating garments with confidence.
Along the way, you would learn to create unique patterns for custom measurements, learn about alterations, and extensive garment construction techniques. You would confidently be able to make finished garments for yourself, loved ones or even start your own small business.
It is the first step in turning your creativity into professional skill.
