Creative Summer School - (6 -16 Yr Olds)
Fashion, Photography, Painting, Drawing, Robotics and Crafting.

Looking for something exciting, inspiring, and creative for your child this summer Our Creative Summer School, funded by the BBC Children In Need offers a safe and vibrant space for young people to explore the world of art, design, and innovation — all while making friends and building confidence.

This 4-week programme gives children the opportunity to experience professional-level workshops in a variety of creative disciplines, tailored for different age groups and abilities.

What’s On Offer
Creatives will choose any of 4 creative pathways, each running across two half-day sessions over the month. Subject areas are:

Sewing & Dressmaking
Design and create simple garments and accessories using sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques. Ideal for fashion-forward minds and those who love working with fabric.

Drawing & Painting
Develop artistic skills in sketching, mixed media, and painting. Explore themes of nature, culture, and imagination.

Arts & Crafts
From paper art and upcycling to card making and 3D craft – this is hands-on creativity at its best.

Photography, Videography & Storytelling
Capture the world through a lens! Learn basic photography skills, video editing and creative storytelling using multimedia tools.

Creative Bricks Engineering (Juniors)
Build structures and machines using bricks, while learning basic engineering principles through play-based learning.

Why this course?

This integrated creative course is a unique course created for young people who enjoy creating.
The course will run throughout August for 4 weeks, with 2 sessions each week per subject.
Each class has been designed to cover specific aspects of each subject area.

This programme is a practical and interactive course and will require creatives to complete creative projects. 
The course will also be very useful as an introduction to the skills required for further study in Fashion Design, garment construction and/or pattern making. 
At the end of the course, creatives will be get to present a mini- portfolio of their work on the course, which would be used as part of their Arts Awards applications.
We will have short breaks and light refreshments will be provided on the course.
At the end of the course, a Certificate of Completion will be awarded.

Frequently asked questions

Would I need to bring a sewing machine with me?

No, you do not need to, we are equipped with enough sewing machines for all registered students.

I have never made any garment before, or used a sewing machine. Will I find the course difficult to follow?

We have specifically created this course with you in mind, we will guide you through all the very basics you need toknow,

What materials/tools will I need to bring with me?

Some of your basic tools, fabrics and materials needed have been included in your course registration fee. However, the few items you will need will be communicated with you upon registration.

Tolumi Abiola Oyediji

Tolumi began sewing in 1998 as a teenager while in secondary school. Her keen interest has led her through a process of self learning as she started out as a self taught designer until she attended the London College of Fashion.
Tolumi owns an award winning Fashion Design label, Tolumi TFP and has showcased on runways and exhibitions in 6 contries accross Europe, America and Africa.
She has now acquired over 20 decades of experience in the fashion industry and in fashion education, and received numerous personal awards. She is skilled in fashion design, pattern making and garment construction, including custom pieces and bridals.
