This calming and supportive course gives you the chance to turn cherished clothing, fabrics, or garments into a beautiful, soft keepsake that holds special memories. Whether you are using items from a loved one who has passed, a child’s school uniform as they move from primary to secondary school, old workwear, or a garment that carries personal meaning, this workshop will guide you through the process step by step.
The course is suitable for all skill levels (as long as you can use a sewing machine).
Across the weekend, you will complete your first memory bear in class, building the skills and confidence to continue making memory bears at home using your own special fabrics.

WHAT YOU WILL MAKE
In the sessions, you will make your first sample memory bear using fabrics and materials provided by the school. This allows you to learn the full process in a supported environment.
After the course, you are encouraged to make a second memory bear at home, using your own special or sentimental fabrics.
All students will receive an original memory bear pattern which has been drafted and developed by our team. The pattern is yours to keep and reuse for future projects so you can continue making memory bears confidently beyond the workshop.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need sewing experience to join?
While we require that you are able to use a sewing machine, no other extensive experience is required. This course is beginner-friendly and suitable for those with even a little sewing experience, as well as those with some existing skills.
Will everything be provided?
Yes. All materials and fabrics needed to make your first sample memory bear in class will be provided, and access to sewing machines.
We however ask that you bring your personal sewing kit with your own scissors, pins. chalk/fabric markers, tape measure, etc

Will I receive a pattern to keep?
Yes. Every participant receives the school-developed memory bear pattern to keep and reuse for future memory bear projects at home.
Can I bring my own sewing machine?
Yes, absolutely. Sewing machines are available at the school, but you are very welcome to bring your own machine if you prefer working with it.
Are refreshments provided?
Yes. Light refreshments will be available during the sessions, including hot drinks, biscuits, and small bites.
Will I complete a bear during the course?
Yes. You will complete your first memory bear in class, giving you the skills, pattern, and confidence to continue independently.
Is the course emotionally sensitive?
Yes. Memory bear making can be personal and meaningful. The sessions are delivered in a calm, supportive environment, with sensitivity and care throughout.
